DETAILS OF THE ISURUS

The Isurus™ Self-Defense Keychains were designed after the Mako Shark (Genus name: “Isurus”).  The keychain measures just at 4 inches long and has a diameter of 0.5 inches.  Made of machined aluminum (grade 6061).

THE NOSE…

Is quite sharp and with its smaller surface area, it can dig deeper and quicker than the conventional self-defense keychains on the market.

THE MOUTH…

Adds an additional shock to your attacker by accelerating the wound opening to it’s full 1/2 inch diameter.  Also, the mouth serves as a “stopper” that limits the depth of penetration.  Again, the goal is not depth – as too deep and you may hit an artery.  The mouth enables you to stab and re-stab with ease, thus improving your chance of escape.

THE GILLS…

Serves as a “blood groove” (like many swords/daggers) and allows a depression/channel to wick the blood, sweat or any other fluid away from the gripping hand.

THE CHANNELS…

Provide a trench to protect your grip strength on the tool.  It also gives your hand extra traction.

THE TAILFIN…

Is angled for easy thumb placement and, in the event of panic, can be quite effective as a more blunted striking surface.  The tapered edge improves the likeliness of cutting the attacker.

THE KEYS…

That are commonly fastened to the end of the Isurus™ Keychain can serve as both a counterweight and a flail.  By holding the Isurus firmly and slinging the key-end across your attacker’s face (or other target area), the practicality of the Isurus™ becomes even more apparent.
